Swan Hills Goes From 3 Financial Products to 1

The Town of Swan Hills is excited for a "fresh start" with the purchase of Vadim's WinFin financial software product.

October 28, 2011 Canada, BC, Kelowna – In their search for more user-friendly software, the Town of Swan Hills, Alberta ultimately chose Vadim’s WinFin financial software product to replace their previous, complex system.

Carmelle Seabrook, Treasurer, finds the main advantages of the WinFin product to be user-friendliness, simplicity, price and an all-in-one system. “Our previous system was very complex and difficult to learn. WinFin seems much easier to use, which will be a big benefit when training new staff members.”

The Town was previously using three programs to keep track of their financial and municipal needs and is looking forward to having all their data within one system. They are especially looking forward to the Payroll, Tangible Capital Assets (TCA) and Purchase Order capabilities within WinFin. Previously, town staff completed Purchase Orders manually and had TCA information in a file folder instead of stored electronically. Having these capabilities built into WinFin means increased efficiency and time savings for the Town.

Carmelle shares that they are “excited for the payroll integration as well as a fresh start with the clean up of the general ledger.”

They expect to realize cost savings in software and support as well as valuable time savings.

Dennis Bieleny, WinFin Support Manager, has worked with WinFin for 7.5 years and covers everything except actual software programming. Dennis has done it all at WinFin: training, program enhancements, quality assurance, managed the support department, sales, implementation, program fixes and new program modules. “Dennis is a pleasure to work with,” Carmelle adds.
