Reporting Capabilities Replace Manual Reports

Reporting capabilities and integration were the main reasons the Town of Hampton, NB decided to purchase Vadim Software's iCity product.

December 3, 2009  Canada, BC, Kelowna – For years, Sherman St. Germain, Treasurer, tediously created manual reports for Council in Excel. After visiting two neighbouring municipalities, the Cities of Miramichi and Bathurst, and seeing how they operate on Vadim and the ability to create reports at the click of a mouse, the Town of Hampton, NB, decided to make the switch to Vadim.

The primary reason Hampton decided to purchase Vadim’s iCity was the reporting capabilities. Another important aspect was the ability to integrate to an existing online registration/payment system, which was purchased earlier in the year but had never been used because the integration capabilities didn’t exist in the previous system. They also liked the user friendliness of the software and the ability to easily access information, both of which their previous software did not have. “The reporting capabilities with Vadim are incredible and will save me a great deal of time,” says Sherman.

With a population of 4,000, Sherman wears all the hats from Accounts Payable to Payroll and is the primary person who will be using the software. He works with other departments within the municipality, who will have the ability to pull the reports they require themselves instead of Sherman having to pull the information and manually create the reports every time they’re needed as he’d done in the past.

The Town of Hampton is pleased with the fact that Vadim is able to implement the software within a short period of time of 2 ½ months for conversion, training and implementation.

Sherman is most looking forward to the reports, time and cost savings, user friendliness and the whole idea of having new software to use. The Director of Leisure Services is also excited for the new reporting capabilities.

The Town of Hampton purchased iCity General Ledger/Budgeting/Financial Report Writer, Accounts Payable/Bank Reconciliation, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Payroll, Building Permits and Cash Receipting.
