Vadim's iCity, a Windows based software system, leads to cost savings for Smooth Rock Falls.

September 3, 2009  Canada, BC, Kelowna – For the Town of Smooth Rock Falls, ON, one of the top deciding factors of their new software system was to move from their previous DOS-based system to a Windows based system, which is a more user friendly system that provides users with the ability to multi-task and open more than one program at once.

Their legacy system lacked the required reporting capabilities and didn’t have a cash receipting module. In comparison, there are several aspects of Vadim’s iCity system that Michelle Larose, CAO, especially likes including the customized reports, departmental budgeting and the ability to “drill back” on transaction history.

When speaking with other northern Ontario municipalities, she found that many were already using iCity. Michelle is familiar with Vadim’s iCity program, as she had previously used it several years ago at another municipality.

The Town of Smooth Rock Falls realizes a definite cost savings, most notably in staff time and yearly support fees.

Smooth Rock Falls, ON, has a population of about 1,450 and is located one hour north of Timmins. The Town purchased iCity General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Property Taxation and Cash Receipting.
