Talking Modules an Important Aspect of New System

Ability for software to automatically enter information into other fields and modules eliminates the need to enter the same info several times.

May 12, 2009 –  As your municipality grows, so do your needs. Sometimes that means new software which can accommodate your growth is necessary, as was the case with the Town of Huntsville, ON.

After using their previous system for 20 years, they felt they had outgrown it and it was time for a change. They were looking for more features in their software and wanted to expand their options. The biggest challenge with their current system was the inability to enter information in one application and have it automatically upload into other fields and modules. Huntsville was glad to learn that iCity has this capability built-in.

Denise Corry, Director of Corporate Services, commented “What really sold it for us was the ability to ensure accurate and timely information, as well as a more efficient financial reporting system.”

An important aspect of the new system was that the programs allow for interaction with the managers. Huntsville was pleased with the fact that all of the modules “talk” to one another as well as the fact that managers and directors could go into the system to look at screenshots of budgets and allocations.

“Working with Vadim was an extreme pleasure,” says Denise. “If the service we have received thus far is any indication of the service we will receive down the road, we will be very satisfied. This was a great experience.”

The Town of Huntsville, part of the District of Muskoka, is located two hours north of Toronto. This vibrant community of 18,000 balloons to approximately 50,000 in the summer, who flock to the area to enjoy all it has to offer. Huntsville will host the 2010 G8 Summit. The Town of Huntsville purchased iCity General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, Inventory, Payroll, Human Resources, Property Taxation, Cash Receipting, VadimVIEW and Web Time Capture.
