Hosting makes Vadim’s integrated iCity Financial Software an affordable option for small communities.

KELOWNA, BC  Friday, August 22, 2008 –  The Village of Canal Flats, BC, located north of Cranbrook, has chosen Vadim’s iCity Software for their core financial, payroll and property taxation software.

With only two part-time employees, time is a precious resource for the Canal Flats accounting department. "One of the major advantages to using Vadim is the elimination of duplicate work. Our current system was not totally integrated but with Vadim, we can enter one set of data and access it in other software programs,” explains Cheryl Otting, Director of Financial Services.

“The Vadim solutions will also facilitate the balancing of bank accounts, taxes and accounts receivable, whereas previously, it was difficult to reconcile these accounts. We are looking forward to using a more automated system, including automatic and more frequent software updates.”

Canal Flats will deploy Vadim through a hosted environment provided by Sasktel, which allows them to store their software and data on Sasktel hardware and access the information over a secure network. This offers more security and reliability than maintaining an IT infrastructure in-house, and reduces their overall overhead and capital costs. Vadim also performs the regular software updates, further reducing the burden on staff. With the hosting option, staff will also have remote access to the system, allowing them to login from a home office or other locations.

“We are excited to welcome the Village of Canal Flats as one of our new clients. In helping them create a more efficient and time-saving environment, we make it possible for them to provide best of breed services to their constituents,” said Wayne Anderson, General Manager of Vadim Software. ”We are pleased that we can provide industry leading software as an affordable solution for small communities.”

Canal Flats is located in the Kootenay Region of Southern British Columbia and has a population of about 700 people. They purchased iCity General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Property Taxes and Cash Receipting.
